Description

This workshop is part of the IT Workshop Series organized in preparation for the upcoming HPC cluster at the HKI, which will soon be ready for use. It is designed to provide a practical introduction to SLURM (Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management), the workload manager that will power the new cluster.

Whether you're new to SLURM or have limited experience, this session will equip you with the essential skills to efficiently manage and schedule jobs on the HPC system.

Through a combination of theoretical insights and hands-on exercises, you will learn:

  • The basic architecture and components of SLURM.
  • How to submit, monitor, and manage jobs using SLURM commands.
  • Troubleshooting common issues and interpreting job logs.

By the end of the workshop, you will be confident in using SLURM to tap into the full potential of the new HPC cluster for your research and computational tasks.
